If you are Christians, why do you play games about killing?

Halo, Team Fortress 2, and others are video games. In video games, what is being shot are "character models", made up of pixels and polygons - non-living material. No person actually gets hurt while playing this game. Were we to make the large leap of going from shooting pixels on a computer screen in a fictional world to going into the real world and willfully and deliberately kill and murder people, that would be completely different. We play the game and then leave it where it is - as a game.

We seek to have the opportunity in all areas of our lives to fellowship with other Christians and to reach those people who do not have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. As Christ commanded us, we are to go to the whole world with the goodness of the gospel. That means that nothing should stop us from bringing this most wonderful news to the whole world, no matter where they are. Even Paul, the apostle largely responsible for most of the New Testament (under the influence of God's spirit), explained: "I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some." (1 Corinthians 9:22) In other words, Paul brought Jesus Christ as many places as he could to bring as many people as he could to God. This is what we, too, seek to do, to bring the truth and love of Jesus Christ to the world. In this case, it's the world of gaming.
